Bill 148 and Employers
The Fair Workplaces, Better Jobs Act, 2017 (better known as Bill 148) was passed into law as of November 27, 2017, with some changes taking effect immediately and many more scheduled to come into effect on January 1, 2018, April 1, 2018 and January 1, 2019. Bill 148 introduces many sweeping changes to employment standards in the province of Ontario which will have significant impacts on the obligations of employers.
