NATIONAL DAY OF CONVERSATION (NDOC)

November 26, 2020

NDOC is a full-day of digital conversation focused on the issue of sexual harassment of fundraisers in the charitable and nonprofit sector.

The goal of NDOC is to raise awareness about the issue of sexual harassment of fundraisers, to provide resources, and advocate for safer workplaces in the charitable and nonprofit sector.

On January 2, 2019, Liz LeClair published an op-ed with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation on her experience with sexual harassment as a fundraiser. In her op-ed was a call to action – no donation was worth compromising employee safety, and it was time for those who experienced harassment to feel safe in the workplace.

But what was next?

After reading the article Wanda Deschamps reached out to Liz and over months of dialogue they co-founded the inaugural National Day of Conversation on November 26, 2019. In the first year NDOC reached thousands of people, was profiled in several industry publications, and raised significant awareness of the issue.

The second annual National Day of Conversation (NDOC) is scheduled for Thursday November 26, 2020. The day will take an intersectional lens, with sessions focused on creating safe workspaces, preventing sexual harassment, and how to support employees who report.

Stuart will be speaking at this important event. His presentation will review what a workplace investigation looks like.
