A class-action lawsuit against One Community Solutions (OCS) — a private security company formerly contracted by the City of Toronto — has escalated, with OCS filing a crossclaim arguing the city and TTC bear responsibility for the alleged mistreatment of its workers. Employees are suing OCS for systemic wage theft, unpaid overtime, and unsafe working conditions.

Stuart offered a candid take on the workers’ prospects: “We’d like to think governments won’t work with bad actors and would take action once they discover something wrong — but there is a difference between what is legal and what is ethical.“
